Here at Morley we’re proud to be the company that leads and others follow. Yes, we are a large organisation (see our Big is Beautiful blog) and we’ve just created the world’s largest factory manufacturing ScreenLine® integral blinds into insulating glass units, by moving into new premises in Leeds.
10 day deliveries
But where we excel is in innovation and we can claim many “firsts”. We were the UK’s first integral blind company to provide 10-day delivery. The norm in the industry still today is 6 to 8 weeks and even those who say they can deliver in 10 days often fail. We can deliver on our promise because we have a fleet of 19 vehicles that make guaranteed deliveries throughout the UK with no surcharge for mainland deliveries. We have the infrastructure to facilitate speedy deliveries.
Another innovation is the launch of S159 anthracite grey integral blinds that are exclusive to Morley Glass & Glazing in the UK and equivalent to RAL 7016. This dark grey colour perfectly complements aluminium door and window profile, which is so popular for large bi-folding doors and sliding patio doors. Again others have followed with their version of RAL 7016 grey equivalents and unfortunately the quality is not always what it should be.
The S159 anthracite grey ScreenLine blinds undergo stringent testing before we incorporate them into our Uni-Blind sealed units. Each component is tested to ensure a high quality, durable and reliable finished product, backed by a 5-year warranty.
The danger with grey blinds from some other manufacturers is that due to the fact that anthracite grey is so dark, it absorbs heat, and if substandard components are used then the double glazed unit featuring the integral blinds, can fog and mist up. And if the heat is strong enough it may even melt the lacquer which can cause the slats to stick together and the blinds to malfunction.
A third area where we have led the integral blind market is the introduction of service engineers. Integral blinds are specialist products, and available in a choice of operating systems – manual, sliding, solar powered and electric powered – and unless you are fitting them and working with them every day, they can be quite complex. We want our customers to understand our products and feel confident working with them. So we’ve invested heavily in training and customer support. This includes employing our own service engineers to make site visits to provide training, installation advice and remedial work. We also stock the largest range of ScreenLine® system spare parts and accessories in Europe with most components supplied within 24 hours.
