Four grass-roots football, rugby and cricket clubs in Yorkshire have secured a further 12-month sponsorship deal from Morley Glass & Glazing.
The privately-owned Leeds-based company has recently made a £1m move to new premises and invested in the creation of the world’s largest factory specialising in the manufacture of sealed units with ScreenLine integral blinds inside.
The firm has pledged its ongoing support to Millshaw Park Rangers, Mirfield Parish Cricket Club, Moortown RUFC and Pudsey St Lawrence Cricket Club. Morley MD Ian Short said: “Unsung heroes often run grass-roots sports clubs and it’s our pleasure to make a financial contribution that will make a real difference to so many people’s lives. We have supported these four clubs in previous years and we are very pleased to continue our support. They do a great job in encouraging juniors and adults to participate in sport.
“We firmly believe that successful businesses have a role to play in their local communities, and we try to get involved whenever possible.”
Morley Glass also recently sponsored a charity auction for Runswick Bay Rescue Boat, which is totally self-funding. The event raised £5000, which will help to provide a lifeboat rescue service in the area close to Whitby, North Yorkshire. The company also supports the Annual North Leeds Charity Beer Festival which is run by the Rotary Club and raised £7000 this year.
