Morley Glass & Glazing will be putting its best foot forward as the company steps in to sponsor Nottingham University’s Latin, Ballroom and Salsa Society.
The privately-owned Leeds-based business is already well-known for its sponsorship of numerous local sports clubs, including Millshaw Park Rangers FC, Moortown RUFC and Pudsey St Lawrence CC, so, when it was approached with the opportunity to help out the student-led, gold star accredited university society, managing director Ian Short was only too happy to help.
As Nottingham University student Polina Boynova, the society’s external relations officer, explains: “I had previously assisted in Ballroom and Latin classes at North Leeds Dance Academy, where Ian and his wife Kathy often attended classes, and decided to approach them about the possibility of sponsoring our society.
“The enthusiasm and happiness Ian and Kathy brought to the classes was such an asset and what a brilliant dance couple they are. We are so grateful for the generous contribution to our society on behalf of Morley Glass; and we hope we reflect the enthusiasm of this lovely pair!”
Promoting Ballroom, Latin America and Salsa dancing, the society provides lessons for all abilities, from absolute beginners right up to advanced dancers. Morley Glass’s sponsorship will go towards updating and increasing the society’s kit numbers, including six new dresses and some new tail suits, allowing members of the team to keep dancing in style.
The new kit will no doubt come in handy when Nottingham University’s Latin, Ballroom and Salsa Society stages its very own charity event later in November to raise money for Dementia UK, which you can find out more about on the society’s website: www.lbss.org.uk
