Chris Ward was named 2014/15 Player Of The Season at the second annual Millshaw Park Rangers Awards Day, sponsored by Morley Glass & Glazing. The award was voted for by the players, with Ward beating Sam Strangeway to first place by just one vote. Ward has enjoyed a fine season, scoring 25 goals and picking up six man of the match awards in his 33 games in a new attacking midfield role.
Vice-captain Isaac Denny was named Manager’s Player Of The Season by Michael Stanton for a consistent season in which Stanton said: “He was in contention for man of the match in every game he’s played”. Denny also took home the Top Scorer award for his 40 goals in 53 games in all competitions.
Jordan Fox was named Most Improved Player after becoming an important member of the regular starting 11, with Jordan Smith picking up the Captain’s Award for his positive attitude toward 24 substitute appearances throughout the season.
Goal Of The Season was also voted for by the players with Nat Lunn’s strike against Badri in the semi-final of the Leeds FA Jubilee Cup claiming the prize.
There were also seven Outstanding Dedication awards handed out to players who had featured in 40 or more fixtures in all competitions: Isaac Denny, Martyn Howe, Arron Duke, Mati Darnbrough, Jordan Fox, Tom Snowden and Chris Holland the players awarded.
Winners of the more light-hearted awards included Isaac Denny picking up Miss Of The Season in a friendly against Seacroft Colts and David Stocks claiming Comedy Moment Of The Year for giving the manager an RKO in the middle of his half time team talk.
Every player featuring in three fixtures or more was given a squad award.
