Morley Glass is stepping up its efforts to make sure disadvantaged children across Yorkshire do not miss out on a chocolate treat this Easter by launching a prize draw in partnership with the Leeds Knights ice hockey club.

We are providing three fantastic prizes which supporters of Leeds Knights will stand a chance of winning simply by bringing an Easter egg to the club’s four March fixtures ahead of the Easter weekend , and donating it to Yorkshire Children’s Charity. Their volunteers will be in attendance on entry to the Leeds Knights games against Swindon Wildcats (Sunday 3rd March), Hull Seahawks (Friday 8th March), Bees Ice Hockey Club (Sunday 17th March) and Sheffield Steeldogs (Sunday 24th March).

Leeds Knights fans who donate an Easter egg will be able to enter into the Yorkshire Children’s Charity prize draw simply by scanning a QR code at the donation point, or posting a photo with their chocolate egg on social media tagging Leeds Knights, Morley Glass and Yorkshire Children’s Charity. You can find out more here.

The top prize will be a Leeds Knights season ticket, with the runner up picking up a half season ticket, and the person with the third place ticket winning a signed Leeds Knights jersey. The winners will be announced on Good Friday at the last Leeds Knights home game before Easter versus Solway Sharks.

All the Easter eggs collected will be distributed by Yorkshire Children’s Charity to children living in some of the region’s most disadvantaged communities who may otherwise not be receiving one this year. Their goal is to provide an Easter egg for every child in each of Yorkshire Children’s Charity’s partnered schools, totalling over 5,000 children.

Morley Glass, who are the ‘title sponsors’ of Leeds Knights, hope the initiative will result in hundreds of Easter eggs being donated to the charity thanks to the generosity of the club’s devoted fans.

Commenting on the partnership, Charlotte Farrington, CEO at Yorkshire Children’s Charity said, “We‘re enormously grateful to Morley Glass and Leeds Knights for setting up this Easter egg collection scheme and, most importantly, to all those ice hockey supporters who will be donating a chocolate egg.

“Holidays such as Easter can put an additional strain on families, especially in the current climate, with the cost of living crisis having a devastating impact on family finances. Yorkshire Children’s Charity’s School Network programme works closely with schools to help understand how best they can support their pupils, and one of the ways we were able to do this successfully in 2023 was through our Easter Egg campaign. A gesture as simple as a chocolate egg can put a huge smile on a child’s face, helping them experience some childhood magic and creating lasting positive memories,”

Morley Glass has proudly supported Yorkshire Children’s Charity since the charity launched in 2022 by providing a mix of financial and hands-on assistance. The charity works to transform childhoods to make things better for the thousands of disadvantaged children living in the region, to make sure no child or young person is left behind due to ill health, disability, or financial circumstance.
